Xfm Breakfast Show host Christian O’Connell was named winner of "The Entertainment Award" at the 23rd Sony Radio Academy Awards at London’s Grosvenor House on May 9th.  The award was presented by Shaky.

Things just get better and better for Shaky, with his latest release "The Collection" which entered entering the UK album charts at number six and climbing two places to number four (24/04/05).  The compilation album from Sony BMG, released on April 11th, features 25 of Shaky's hit singles (some slightly altered) plus a bonus dvd of 12 on his promo videos. The cd/dvd release similar to the Danish release "Collectable" is available from www.amazon.co.uk as album only or with the bonus dvd for a little extra.

Shaky is one of the many guests to appear in Peter Kay's video of Tony Christies "Is This The Way To Amarillo".  But did you know it could have just as easily been Shaky's Green Door that was used as the Comic Relief single?  Apparently Peter Kay and Shaky even made a promotional video together, but it wasn't until the video was being edited they decided to go with "Amarillo". Shaky stormed through to the final of Hit Me Baby One More Time after whipping the crowd into a wild frenzy with his rockin' rendition of P!nk's "Trouble".  The studio audience voted for Dr And The Medics, but the viewers weren't having any of it with Shaky fans calling in their thousands!  This slight hick up on "This Ole House" did nothing to put the viewers off leaving Belinda Carlisle, Haddaway and Jaki Graham standing. Shaky wowed the crowds at Shepherds Bush Empire on Wednesday April 6th, even the daily Star was impressed.... "Shakin' Stevens, 57, was the ultimate Rock 'n' Roll icon of the eighties - and he showed us why when he took to the stage at the Shepherd's bush empire. The crowd went wild when, in true Shaky style, the Welshman - real name Michael Barratt - belted out Lipstick Powder And Paint before turning up the voltage with This Ole House. With his legendary leg-shake and Elvis-stance, he said it "felt great" to be back on stage 12 years after penning his last song. And it felt great to have him back." more It's also worth noting the concert was filmed for future commercial use

Shaky did an hour long interview with Geoff Barker last night on his two hour rock n roll radio show on BBC South West, Saturday April 2nd.

Shaky will be a guest on GMTV somewhere between 07:00 and 08:35 hrs on Tuesday, April 5th, on ITV.

Shaky has been confirmed as a contestant a new primetime music tv series called "Hit Me Baby One More Time" to be screened on ITV.  The show hosted by Vernon Kay will start this Saturday, April 2nd, and Shaky will be on the following weekend at 5:45 pm.  Each artist will perform one of their songs, plus a contemporary hit from resent years, live on stage.  Viewers will be asked to vote by phone for there favourite each week and similar to "Stars In Their Eyes",  the winner from each round will go through to the grand final.

Along with Shaky Other confirmed contestants include Carol Decker (from T'Pau),  Belinda Carlisle, Howard Jones, Dr & The Medics, Limahi (from Kajagoogoo), Tiffany, The Honeyz, Chesney Hawkes, Nick Heyward (from Haircut 100), 911, Baccara, Cutting Crew, Rozalla, Sybil, Jaki Graham, Kenny Thomas, and Nathan (from Brother Beyond).

Shaky who will be using the show to help promote his new cd/dvd "The Collection", is interviewed in TV Quick magazine.

Shaky features in the video for Peter Kay's / Tony Christie  Comic Relief single "Is This The Way To Amarillo", released on Monday March 14th.   The enhanced cd will include a the video, and will be followed by a dvd release the following week. The song's singer, Tony Christie, who also appears in the video said "when Peter Kay and Comic Relief approached me about doing this I was thrilled and hope that it will help raise lots of money for such a great cause". The video which got its first showing on Red Nose Night Live ’05 (BBC ONE Friday 11 March), features a whole host of famous faces including fellow funnymen Keith Harris and Bernie Clifton.  MORE HERE
